Share in Our Journey

MandR-Big-WEBWelcome to our blog! We have loved the feel of local coffee shops for as long as we can remember. From the small town diners where we grew up in rural Pennsylvania and outside of Boston to the craft coffee roasters in San Francisco, our understanding of not only the coffee, but of the community that comes with it has grown.

Coffee and cocktails are about the experience. Finding the ideal beans, sourcing the best small batch liquors and perfecting the preparation are essential to providing a quality product. Those traits, however, are nothing if they are not provided in a setting that allows us to find our perfect cup.

We hope to make Slipstream a foundation of the community and a setting for the exploration of new tastes. As we build our business, we hope that our growth comes from a deep dialog with our neighbors, not us speaking on a microphone. We want to share our journey of starting a business in hopes that it may help you start your own business or perhaps allow you to help us to improve.

Through social media, events and conversations up 14th Street, we will listen intently. At the same time, we urge you to stay engaged and help make Slipstream a part of the neighborhood.

Goals of this blog. This blog will be one of the many ways we communicate with the community and we hope that you will find it entertaining and informative. Specifically, we hope to:

  • Share our progress as we work towards opening
  • Provide guidance to others ready to start a business of their own
  • Communicate information about the new shop and our partners
  • Discuss our experiences and collaboration with the Logan Circle community
  • Interact…we hope to hear from you often and will do our best to be active on this blog, email and social media
